Yesterday, after months of telling Jonathan "I love you", he finally said it back! After saying "I love you" to him, he hugged me, kissed my nose, and said "I love you" back. He also said "good night" tonight before going to bed - with no fuss this time when I put him in his bed! He's picking up both languages, using Norwegian mainly with his care giver and paternal grandparents, and English with me.
Jonathan's determined to learn and is growing more independent. He gets upset if mummy and daddy try to help him with eating or solving puzzles. But his favourite past-time activity is dancing to the Wiggles. And pressing the redial button to talk with his maternal grandma in Australia.
I'm so blessed with this boy. :-)

Growing up
Jonathan started walking all by himself (no help at all) at 13 months and he's been on the go since then. Non-stop. He's really active and outdoorsy. He loves to play hide and seek and likes to talk. He is learning both languages and that's been evident recently. He asked "er den god?" today ("is that good?"), pointing at the food I was eating. When I answered "ja, det er godt", he came over and tried to eat it. He can also say "car!" (points out to them when they drive by) and "good boy".
Here are some recent photos of him (including one of him throwing a tantrum while I was trying to feed him dinner):

Jonathan on the go... (he managed to draw on the TV screen with crayons shortly after this photo was taken - thankfully we were able to get rid of the crayon marks)

Update March 2007
Jonathan turns 1 year old on March 28 and he's looking forward to having his first birthday party! He's made some progress in the last few months - from getting his first teeth at around 7 months to crawling at 8 months. He hasn't quite gotten the grasp of walking by himself yet, but he's learning. He skirts around the table (aided walking) and likes to push chairs around the living room.
He's had one little haircut (sides and back) and likes to laugh and smile a lot. Jonathan likes to wave goodbye when people leave the house and he understands the word "NO" or "NEI" (although he likes to push his luck every now and then).
