Jonathan on holidays
Jonathan really enjoyed being on holidays (and even let his parents sleep in towards the end)!
Well, he's a little over 4 months and close to 8kg (and getting bigger each day)!

The advantages of being bi-lingual
Lucky Jonathan gets the best of both worlds...
Have a look at these links:

There's a theory out there: One parent - one language
For bi-lingual couples, there's definitely hope that our bubs have the advantage of being bi-lingually fluent (and very smart)!

"This approach probably brings about the quickest results and increases the chances of your child being able to distinguish the two different languages. If each parent sticks to their 'allotted' language, your child has an immediate way of recognising who speaks which language."

1 week at home
The little toddler has now been home for one week and he is growing fast! When we left the hospital last Saturday Jonathan weighed almost3.1 kilos (it is normal to loose a bit of weight during the first couple of days). When we visited the hospital yesterday for a small check up, he had already put on the weight he'd lost and also gained a bit more - the scale stopped at 3.430 kilos!
I am currently enjoying my two weeks of paternity leave, and of course getting used to parenthood. I think I'm actually doing pretty well so far (at least nobody has told me I don't :). Jonathan has so far been very good and only wakes up during the night when he's hungry and/or needs his nappies changed, then he falls back to sleep. Good boy or what?
We bought a car this week to make it easier to get around, so we needed a car seat too for the little boy. Actually, to be correct, we already had the seat when we bought the car, so perhaps it's better to say that we needed a car for the seat? Anyway, before we set it up in the car, Jonathan did a little dry test in the living room, he seemed to like it! On the first drive he fought a bit in the beginning though, but he stopped crying the instant we started driving and then he fell asleep. And that's been the story for all our trips after that (so far at least).

We got a boy!
Hi everyone,
Well...it finally happened after a long, arduous 9 months! We became first-time parents of little (and he is so tiny!) Jonathan Gullestad Pettersen, who arrived at 3.37am on Wednesday, 28 March (2 days earlier than the due date).
Jonathan weighed 3.252kg and was 51cm long when he was born. It was a very long birthing process (roughly 24 hours from the first stage of labour) but when he came, it was worth it. :-)
We had the baby at the Ullevål Hospital in Oslo. We're now at the Ullevål hotel within the hospital until Saturday morning. Visiting times are 4pm onwards, so just let us know via sms or a call if you want to pop in.
Well, we're going to try to get some rest now. We were up all night trying with a restless baby, and now he's safely and soundly asleep. :-)
